My journey into photography began as an elective course in architecture school. What started as a creative curiosity remained a casual hobby for many years until the pandemic hit us in 2020, when my daughters surprised me with a carbon fiber tripod. Their thoughtful gift and encouragement to get outdoors rekindled my passion for exploring the world through a lens.
As an architect, I spend my professional life shaping spaces and studying the relationship between light, form, scale, and composition. Photography became a natural extension of that vision. Whether I am capturing the clean lines of a modern structure, the textures of a historic building, or the ever-changing colors of a coastal sunset, I am drawn to the artistic balance between design and nature.
Fine art photography allows me to move beyond documentation and create images that evoke emotion, tell stories, and reveal beauty that might otherwise go unnoticed. I am especially passionate about landscape photography, where patience, timing, and light come together to transform an ordinary scene into something extraordinary. For me, the camera is not just a tool for recording what I see, but a way of expressing how I experience a place and a moment.
Photography also offers a welcome contrast to the demands of architecture. It slows me down, encourages me to be present, and reminds me to appreciate the world around me. As the saying goes, "A bad day behind the lens is still better than the best day at work."
I am fortunate to call San Diego, California home, where spectacular sunsets over the Pacific Ocean provide endless inspiration. My travels around the world have given me the opportunity to experience diverse cultures, meet remarkable people, and explore extraordinary landscapes. These experiences continually influence my artistic perspective and inspire the images you see throughout this gallery.
